Privacy policy
This policy explains what the Teksi app (for riders), the Teksi1 app (for drivers and rental companies) and teksi1.com collect, why, who sees it, and what you can do about it. “Teksi”, “we” and “us” mean the team that runs these services.
What we collect
- Account: your name, phone number, email address (when you sign in with Google or Apple), your Teksi ID and your home city.
- Rides: pickup and destination, times, distance, the price, ratings, comments and reports.
- Location: riders' location while the app is open, to set the pickup; drivers' location while they are online or on a ride.
- Driver documents: profile photo, driving licence, tazkira or passport, vehicle registration, a photo of the car, and the driver's address.
- Rentals: your bookings, and for rental companies their company page, cars, photos and terms.
- Contacts and sharing: the Teksi IDs you add as contacts, and the people you share a trip with.
Why we use it
- To match riders with drivers, show prices, routes and arrival times, and run each ride.
- To let rental companies receive and answer bookings.
- To keep rides safe: the PIN, trip sharing, document checks, and handling reports.
- To answer your questions and keep accounts secure.
We do not sell your data, and there are no advertisements in our apps.
Who sees what
- Drivers see a rider's first name, rating, pickup and destination.
- Riders see the driver's name, rating, car, plate and position during the ride.
- Rental companies see the name and phone number of the person who booked their car.
- People you share a trip with see the trip's status, driver, car, plate and position, never the price, the PIN or phone numbers.
- Driver documents are private: only the driver and the Teksi team can see them.
- The Teksi team can see what is needed to run the service and handle reports. Staff accounts need a second sign-in step.
Services we use
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage, on servers in the European Union (Ireland).
- Google: maps, place search and road routes, and Sign in with Google.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple.
- Open-Meteo: the weather on the rider's home screen, for the centre of their home city. Your own location is not sent.
- Cloudflare: hosting of teksi1.com.
Each of them handles data under its own privacy policy, only to provide its service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and the data linked to it within 30 days. We may keep a record of a ride for longer when it is part of an open report or when the law requires it.
Your choices
- Location: you can refuse location access; riders can then choose the pickup on the map. Drivers need it to go online.
- Notifications: you can turn them off in your phone's settings.
- Your data: you can see and change your profile in the app, and ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it.
- Deleting: see Delete your account on this site.
Security
Connections to our servers are encrypted. Each person can read only their own data; the database enforces this, not just the app. Driver documents are kept in private storage.
Age
You must be at least 18 to drive with Teksi1 or to rent a car, or older if a rental company asks for it. Teksi is not meant for children under 13.
